Student Council
The Student Council makes your time in Tartu Applied Health Sciences University more exciting. It organizes various events for students, including activities for welcoming new students, Health Week, and other student initiatives. The Student Council also supports the university management on matters related to student life and organizes health promotion activities, such as Walking Week.
The purpose of the Student Council is to involve students in decision-making processes that affect them and to provide opportunities for expressing their opinions on issues related to the activities of Tartu Applied Health Sciences University (TARTUH). The Student Council protects students’ rights and interests, represents students within and outside the university, and contributes to the development of student life by sharing information, organizing discussions and events, and fostering cooperation with other organizations. Representatives of the Student Council are members of the TARTUH Council Board and participate in the activities of the Pedagogical Board.
The Student Council of Tartu Applied Health Sciences University has been addressing students’ concerns, supporting student initiatives, organizing activities, and providing assistance since 2005, when the institution was granted the status of a higher education institution. The activities, membership, and procedures of the Student Council are defined in the Statute.
Since 2006, the Student Council has been a member of the Federation of Estonian Student Unions (EUL), an umbrella organization representing the interests of Estonian students and working to protect their rights.
