Accommodation
Tartu Applied Health Sciences University has the rooms of its hall of residence, which is adjacent to the main building at Nooruse 5.
- Each room is provided with bedding (blanket, pillow, bed linen) and two towels.
- Area is covered with a wireless internet connection.
- A fully equipped kitchen and bathroom is shared between 3 rooms. In the kitchen there are electric stove, kettle, refrigerator, dishes for cooking and serving. Everything is for shared use and so everyone has to clean and tidy up after themselves.
Dormitory room rates:
- A large double room (entire room) costs €132 per month. A single bed space in the room costs €66 per month.
- A small double room (entire room) costs €106 per month. A single bed space in the room costs €53 per month.
Apartment-Style Accommodation Rates: - An entire double room costs €128 per month. A single bed space in a double room costs €64 per month.
- An entire triple room costs €165 per month. A single bed space in a triple room costs €55 per month, while 1.5 bed spaces in a triple room cost €82.50 per month.
In addition to the base rent, residents are required to pay the following utility charges: - Electricity (room consumption) – calculated according to the electricity meter readings and divided equally among the residents living in the respective apartment unit.
- Common area electricity – 24% of the cost is covered by Tartu Applied Health Sciences University, while the remaining 76% is divided equally among all residents.
- Water consumption – calculated according to the hot and cold water meter readings and divided equally among the residents living in the respective apartment unit.
- Water heating – water heating accounts for 10% of the total heating costs. Of the heat energy used for water heating, 24% is covered by Tartu Applied Health Sciences University. The cost of heating 1 m³ of water is calculated based on the total hot water consumption of all residents, multiplied by the individual hot water meter reading, and then divided equally among the residents living in the respective apartment unit.
- Heating – heating accounts for 90% of the total heating costs. The cost is calculated according to the floor area (square metres) and divided equally among the residents sharing the room.
- Waste collection – 24% of the waste collection cost is covered by Tartu Applied Health Sciences University, while the remaining 76% is divided equally among all residents.
- Maintenance of elevators and the fire alarm system – 24% of the maintenance cost is covered by the university, while the remaining 76% is paid through residents’ maintenance fees.
- Maintenance of the ventilation and electrical systems – 24% of the maintenance cost is covered by the university, while the remaining 76% is paid through residents’ maintenance fees.
Utility charges are invoiced and payable in the month following the relevant billing period.
Dormitory residents may also use the following facilities: - a bicycle storage room located in the basement of the academic building, available for a maintenance fee of €5 per month;
- a washing machine, which can be used by purchasing a €2 token for each wash cycle.
