Renewing the Curriculum of Client Worker for People with Mental Health Problems (Swiss-Estonian Cooperation Programme)

The aim of the project is to implement the Swiss-Estonian Cooperation Programme support measure “Promoting Social Inclusion”, programme component “Modernisation of Social Sector Specialists’ Formal Education and Qualifications and Development of Training and Support Systems”, and, within this framework, to update a social services curriculum. 

Project objectives: 

• To develop a work-based curriculum for activity instructors that supports the development of learners’ practical skills and meets the labour market needs of the sector. 

• To update existing curriculum modules and create new ones based on the current occupational standard and competence model. 

• To create a digital system for organising and documenting practical training, supporting the coordination and supervision of practice. 

• To develop a training programme for practice supervisors and to conduct three training courses for practice supervisors during the project period. 

• To diversify teaching by creating two e-learning courses: “Special Educational Needs” and “Supporting the Client in Learning and Work, and Client Activation”. 

• To develop two micro‑qualifications and plan their implementation in the teaching process from 2028 onwards. 

• To increase the visibility of the curriculum by developing marketing materials. 

• To produce methodological teaching guidelines to support the learning process. 

• To involve three practitioners/alumni from the field in curriculum development and quality assurance, and to establish ongoing cooperation with them. 

• To carry out an impact analysis of the curriculum and, based on the results, develop recommendations for its further development and improvement.
